Color experiments

The Exa500 was a heavy camera and dangerous weapon with the250 mm lens. With some disdain a colleague described the lens as ‘window glas’. A friend saw how shocked I was at his remark. She comforted me by saying that a picture should show emotion and that I managed to do perfectly in that respect. Still thanks, Magda.

The first negatives from the Exa500 were no prizewinners. They were not bad. The main problem was developing the negatives and using a decent enlarger. The contrast was bad due the Domiplan lens.

When I bought the Olympus I spent all my summer earnings. No holidays, just staying at my parents place. I don’t no why, but I took up the not so brilliant idea of printing my own color pictures made with the new camera. The summer of 1976 was exceptionally hot. Keeping the chemicals at exactly 20° with a tolerance of plus or minus 0,2° ..., horrible. No color prints for me afterwards.

The pictures and the text underneath are linked to some fine examples of pictures taken before photographic course
